I Have Wii!
Many thanks to my partner for this fun and very useful birthday present. I can now start trying out ideas and getting to grips with the hardware.
One important discovery is the existence of the Wii Internet Channel. This download from the Wii Shop (500 points) gives you a web browser on your Wii. Its based on Opera so its a fully feature browser capable of accessing all the wonderful things on the web. What is more, someone has developed the Wii Opera SDK to integrate the Wii Remotes into the web. Making it possible to have Wii specific games delivered by via the web.
This is important for WyyMi. Rather than using the Wii Remote plugged into a computer, we can use the Wii itself. This simplifies the whole set-up and delivery of the software. No news as to whether the Wii Fit balance board will be integrated as well. Without it, we will have to use a PC based solution but in the meantime, the Wii Internet Channel is a good way of testing ideas.
Wii Opera SDK - Browser this page from your Wii Internet Channel, it has some examples to try.
